ABOUT ME

Born and raised near Columbus, OH, Chris played the family piano a lot as a kid but refused to take lessons. He started playing drums at the age of 11 and played all-ages shows around Central Ohio. He got into audio engineering at 19 when he was frustrated by two consecutive producers ghosting one of his band's albums mid-project.

In 2010, with an 8-track minidisk recorder he got from a friend, he moved to Athens, OH to learn from Ohio University students majoring in Audio Production and to utilize the school's studio when it was empty. After a friend gifted him a copy of Logic Pro, he set up a rudimentary studio in his basement and started recording his and his friend's projects.

In 2013, he moved to Chicago and by happenstance found himself recording live performances at a DIY venue called Young Camelot. He would eventually record over 500 sets at that and other venues, and worked with a number of underground artists at his studio The Foam Palace. He also played around Chicago and toured with groups like Soddy Daisy, Beastii, Bloodhype, Ka Malita, Faux Co, or occasionally filling in on drums for other bands.

In 2016, he moved into his current venue/studio The VCR, where he continues recording live performances,  producing albums for artists of all genres, and releasing solo material under the moniker Alchemeleon.
